“Are you okay?” Mary asks in concern, glancing at Devin but quickly returning her glare to Tammy.
“Yeah, I’m really sorry . . . . I just freaked! But I’m okay now.” Devin sincerely says, as Amanda Denise and Victoria give her a hug, then Mary and Tammy, as Dom just watches.
“Is someone going to explain?” Dom curiously asks, as everyone shoots him a dirty look.
“I don’t mean to pry, but . . . never mind.” Dom says as he quickly throws his hands up in peace.
“Devin and Denise this is . . .” Mary starts to say, as Dom interrupts.
“Dom. Nice to meet you ladies.” Dom quickly says with a laugh.
“Corona Time!” Victoria yells out, as they start walking back to the house.
“NO! MGD!” Tammy yells out, as they all start laughing.
“So what’s for dinner?” Mary asks, as they all set bags of groceries down on the counter and Denise starts digging through them as everyone grabs a beer and sits around the kitchen.
“I just hope nothing went bad, setting in the car that long.” Denise says in concern, digging through the bags.
“I guess we have to go back to town.” Tammy quickly says, jumping to her feet, as Mary gives her and evil look.
“Sit Down! NO ONE is going to town!” Mary states very firmly, as Tammy takes a big drink of her beer.
“If you tell me ONE more time TODAY what to do!” Tammy angrily states and then quickly storms from the room, as Mary quickly follows, concerned with her younger sisters anger.
An hour later everyone pitches in with the cookout. Mary and Dom assigned salad making, but he quickly gets excused, when Denise has trouble with the grill. Dom glancing at the old building several times, his mind wondering what’s in side, as he watches the hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill.
After dinner everyone gets comfortable around the picnic table and plays several hands of cards, and discuss plans for the motel. Then calls it a night.

Two weeks go by as Mary and Dom’s friendship grows. He finishes putting on a new roof and several other repairs to the rooms, but his mind is never far from the old building and the heavy locks and chains. The ladies finish painting all the rooms and several small repairs. Its late evening after dinner and everyone is sitting out back of the house, playing horseshoes and cards and arguing over what to call the motel.
“You know I don’t really care anymore! I’m calling it a night.’ Amanda says, standing and stretching..
“Dom’s Paradise still sounds good to me!” Dom cheerfully says, as Mary and him walk over from playing horseshoes.
“NO!” All the ladies say in unison, as they laugh as he sits down beside Mary at the picnic table.
‘Well Good Night Everyone!” Amanda says, as she starts to walk toward the house.
“Me too, Good Night!” Devin says, following Amanda.
“Good Night!” Everyone yells in unison.
“I guess I’m calling it a night also.” Denise says, as Tammy and Victoria throw in their cards.
“You just don’t want me to take any more of your money.” Victoria jokily says, as she also stands up.
“Yeah! What ever!” Denise sarcastically says, as they start walking towards the house.
“Good Night!” Tammy yells, placing the cards back in the box, and following them into the house.
“GOOD NIGHT!” Mary yells, as the back door goes closed.
“Are you sleepily too?” Mary asks, glancing over at Dom then up at the stars.
“No.” Dom says, smiling at her, then up at the stars, as he causally rests his arm behind her on the tabletop of the picnic table as they lean against it.
“Good!” Mary says with a smile.
“So when are you going to show me what’s in the building?” Dom nonchalantly asks after several minutes of silence as they look up at the stars, glancing over at her then back at the stars, as she seems to stop breathing.
“For the hundredths time! And this WILL BE LAST FUCIN’ TIME! The building is OFF LIMITS!” Mary very firmly states, quickly standing, and glancing directly at him, and then starts to walk towards the house.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you.” Dom sincerely says, quickly grabbing hold of her, and pulling her tightly to him.
“Good Night.” Mary says, as she tries very hard not to look directly at him.
Dom places his strong muscular hands on her face, forcing her to look directly at him, and then gently kisses her on the mouth, that she quickly responds too.
“Gotta go . . . . . .Good Night.” Mary struggles to whisper, breaking the kiss, and hurrying into the house without looking back.
Leaving Dom standing alone wondering.
