Second Chance ~ 24

The vehicle coming to a stop pulls Marshall from his emotionally thoughts, and he quickly unbuckles twisting and turning in his seat looking at the crowds of people.

“Why isn’t she here yet?” Marshall frantically asks, not seeing the third Explore.

“They’re stuck in traffic.” Box nervously says, quickly noticing the small airport is not prepared to handle the crowd that is being held back at a little distance by only a tall fence, as Paul opens the door and is surprised to find Hailie instead of security by the door.

“It’s a long story.” Marshall radically says, preparing to crawl back over the seat, as Box is getting out on the other side.

“Let me get Hailie and then . . .” Box leans in and begins to explain that as soon as Hailie is moved they can move the seat but Marshall is to far over the seat to finish explaining.

“I’m getting on My Plane holding My Daughters hand while carrying My Son!” Marshall firmly states, looking directly at Hailie with a smile as he is unbuckling Madison from the car seat.

“This is not the time to get possessive.” Paul firmly states, grabbing her backpack, as she is handing over the dolls.

“Okay Buddy it’s going to get loud again and I’m going to put blankie over your head again, but Mommy will be here soon.” Marshall softly explains, gently tossing the blanket over his head and quickly steps out of the Explore and taking Hailie’s hand as she jumps down.

Marshall uses his own head to hold down a very pissed off Madison’s head to his shoulder while holding Hailie’s hand as they walk several yards to the plane.

Hailie goes up the steps in front of him, but quickly stops at the door and turns and parade waves at the crowd with a large smile.

“What was that?” Marshall asks after taking a few steps in the door while quickly removing the blanket from Madison’s head, bouncing a little to calm him down.

“Dad all the rock stars do it . . . even the Beatles use to!” Hailie informs as they’re moving to the main cabin.

“We’re not rock stars.” Marshall points out with a small laugh, letting Madison down; impressed that His Daughter knows who the Beatles are.

“Alright Hip Hop stars even Presidents.” Hailie points out, handing Elmo over to Madison.

“What was that?” Paul asks with a laugh, flopping down on the sofa, as Madison holding Elmo by his arm quickly finding exploring lots of fun.

“Miss! Thinks it’s the cool thing to do when boarding a plane.” Marshall explains, while thinking the little move is going to get his little girl’s face plastered on the cover of ever-trashy magazine in the world.

“Not cool! It’s the polite thing to do!” Hailie informs, quickly grabbing a glass ashtray from Madison.

“Okay. But we’re not going to be polite anymore.” Marshall firmly states in a fatherly tone.

“Mom says to Always be polite!” Madison quickly informs, as Marshall is taking the coaster that he is handing over.

“See even your brother agrees with me.” Marshall quickly informs, listening to Madison’s baby talk.

“No I don’t.” Madison quickly informs, as Hailie is pulling him around to look at her.

“Maddie say no . . . no no no.” Hailie says, looking directly at Madison with a smile.

“No!” Madison firmly states, and Marshall laughs.

“Only because you told him too.” Marshall says with a laugh playfully tackling her and starts tickling.

Marshall pulls Madison down beside her and tickles them both, as Box motions for Paul and they leave the plane, to greet a very pissed off woman.

The press and fans not really knowing what Madison’s mother looks like, but from the short distance notices the swarming of security around another Explore that has pulled up quickly begins screaming questions.

Carly tries to exit the vehicle calmly but gently takes Paul’s arm, and escorted the few feet to the plane and up the several steps. Wanting to stop and turn around and firmly explain her thoughts on them as she hears words as illegitimate, bitch, slut, gold digger, but only concerned with the confused state of her child, and what he has gone through in the last several hours forces herself to keep walking.

“CARLY!” Hailie excitedly yells, rushing up to her and she quickly knells down and tightly hugs her.

“MOMMY!” Madison excitedly yells, and Carly stands and takes him from Marshall’s arms, and hugs tightly to her life.

“Carly?” Marshall nervously whispers, lovingly wrapping his arms around them.

“I Can’t Breath!” Madison angrily states, being smashed between them.

“Privately.” Carly angrily whispers into Marshall’s ear, and then quickly pulls away and handing Madison over to B with a forced friendly smile looking around the cabin, and quickly thinks bathroom.

“Where’s the ladies room?” Carly forcefully nicely asks, as everyone tries to ignore the couple standing in the middle of the floor.

“Take Off.” Marshall says as he points to the back and then follows.

“I thought I heard you say last night Not to WORRY! I’m Being Careful! . . . No One Is Going to Know!” Carly recites as calmly as she can at a somewhat of a whisper, once Marshall shuts the bathroom door.

“You in one fuckin’ day . . . . taken stolen a normal life away from HIM! . . . .” Carly emotionally says, wrapping her arms tightly around her self so she won’t hit him.

“You fuckin’ stole eleven months of my son’s life from ME!” Marshall angrily yells, quickly closing the short distance between them, looking directly into her cold green eyes.

“YOUR Son! . . . had eleven months of a normal life . . . had a chance to have a life! Instead of being a part of the Fucked Up Eminem Show!” Carly emotionally yells, but the plane taking off throws her into him and them roughly into a towel rack that quickly gives away from their weight.

“Are you okay?” Marshall urgently asks, as the plane evens out, wrapping his arms securely around her; knowing his back now has a prefect print of the towel rack and definitely feeling the pain.

“I have to go out their and look into my . . . . our son’s eyes and explain to Him that I have no fuckin’ clue where we’re going! I don’t fuckin know what we’re doing . . . . ask your father hopefully he knows.” Carly angrily states, roughly pushing away.

“Has he had lunch is he wet did it dawn on you to bring any of his things?” Carly sporadically rambles, as the tears begin to flow.

“And You wanna know what’s really fucked up? . . . . I’m in here arguing with you instead of out there with him!” Carly emotionally cries, starting to leave.

“Wait . . .” Marshall urgently states, pushing the door closed.

“Stay the fuck away from Me!” Carly emotionally cries trying to open the door again.

“I can’t I Love You.” Marshall sincerely with his whole heart body and soul says, leaning against the door and pulling her into his arms as she begins to cry uncontrollably.

“Sweetheart I’ve never stopped loving you . . . and I never will.” Marshall softly whispers, holding her tightly in his arms.

“What are we gonna do?” Carly emotionally mumbles into Marshall muscular chest, after several moments.

“Take one day at a time. I know Madison and your home is in Minnesota but right now your stuck living with me and Hailie cause it’s safer. B grabbed clothes and stuff that’ll get you through a couple days. If we missed something we’ll buy it or get Dru to send it.” Marshall sincerely explains, holding tightly to her.

“What about my job?” Carly emotionally asks, looking up at him

“Hopefully they’ll understand that you’re taking a couple years off.” Marshall nonchalantly mumbles, tightening his hold.

“What?” Carly asks, slightly pulling away.

“Your job is to raise our son . . . maybe when he goes to school we can maybe talk about it.” Marshall firmly says, looking directly into beautiful green eyes.

“Did you happen to bump your head sometime today?” Carly asks, backing away a little, Marshall quickly noticing that look in her eyes.

“Don’t! I really had nothing to do with  . . . them finding out where you lived! I Promise You I Didn’t. I was so careful I had no intentions in throwing yours or my son’s lives into turmoil this morning . . . . Elmo! I didn’t cancel Elmo . . .” Marshall sincerely explains, but suddenly realizing.

“What are you talking about?” Carly asks in confusion.

“I hired them ice skating people . . . they weren’t gonna be on ice but in costumes and they were going to visit.” Marshall carefully explains, knowing she’s going to kill him.

Sesame Street on Ice?” Carly asks, praying he didn’t, but knowing that Madison loved the show.

“Yeah it was Hailie’s idea.” Marshall nervously admits.

“You just blamed an innocent child.” Carly quickly points out, as he busts out laughing.

“It’s not funny!” Carly agitatedly states, as he tries to regain his composure.

“I left two guys at the house. I would love to be there when Elmo and Friends show up at seven.” Marshall struggles to say between laughing, running it through his head.

“The thought is funny.” Carly has to admit, as the though runs through her head.

“A Truce for now? But I still have a lot of issues that we need to discuss.” Carly says, holding out her hand.

“Okay.” Marshall quickly agrees and then pulls her into a deep passionate kiss.

Hands begin to roam as their passionate kiss deepens, and Carly breathlessly nervously moves away and rushes from the bathroom. Marshall tries to stop her; his heart telling him they have plenty of time.

Carly quickly looses her high heel pumps and curls up in a seat and watches Hailie help well really put together a new wooden animal puzzle with Madison, as Marshall quietly huddles in the back with security and Paul. B sincerely giving words of wisdom trying to reassure her that everything is going to work out that their second chance is a gift from god.

About an hour into the flight the pilot announces they will be landing soon, and Marshall quickly gets up and frantically buckles his children into their seats, slightly pushing Carly out of the way just to make sure they’re secure before slightly pushing her down in the seat next to them and making sure her belt is tight. Box and Paul glancing at each knowing he’s got it bad.

After the plane lands Marshall nervously rushes around the plane helping gathering up toys that are strung everywhere looking for Elmo, as Carly tries to ignore him while changing Madison’s diaper and clothes.

“Somebody get him!” Carly announces with a laugh, after he announces Elmo has to be found Now.

“Daddy Madison has Elmo.” Hailie quickly informs handing over the second shoe, as Madison angrily informs he’s sees no point in wearing shoes.

“What’s wrong?” Marshall quickly asks in concern kneeling down in front of them.

“He doesn’t like shoes, but I’m bigger than him.” Carly nonchalantly explains, letting a pissed off Madison off her lap with his shoes on.

“Wonder where he gets that?” Marshall quickly informs, picking him up.

“WHY do I need Shoes? I don’t like shoes.” Madison pitiful explains, as Marshall carefully listens while slowly trying to remove the shoes.

“Marshall Don’t you dare!” Carly firmly states, digging through her handbag for a hairbrush.

“He doesn’t like shoes.” Marshall defensively says, as she quickly stands up directly in front of him.

“Sooo you’re bigger than him . . . Madison that’s enough you’ll survive . . . Hailie.” Carly explains looking directly at Marshall than placing a kiss on Madison’s cheek and then motioning for Hailie to stand.

Carly sits back down and gently brushes Hailie hair and then adjusts her clothes then asks if she needs to go to the bathroom, and when she happily announces no.

“Okay we’re ready.” Carly happily announces, quickly standing and adjusting her own clothes slipping her heels back on.

“I don’t get my clothes fixed?” Marshall pitiful asks.

“Nope.” Carly says taking a second glace around the plane for anything important, as one of security takes the diaper bag and the two backpacks.

“Thank you.” Carly sincerely says, and then nervously smiles at Marshall reaching for Madison.

“I got him just give me the blanket.” Marshall says, pulling back a little.

“Daddy has an obsession with the blanket like you do clothes!” Madison explains to Mommy but she really not listening cause looking around for it.

“What blanket?” Carly asks a little lost at really what she is looking for.

“To throw over Maddie’s head so his face is not on the covers of trashy magazine.” Hailie quickly informs.

“Thank you Barbara Walters.” Marshall says with a small laugh.

“You said family so let’s go.” Carly says taking Hailie’s hand.

“Yeah Dad I gotta call Samantha.” Hailie quickly adds, loving the sound of family.

“You don’t understand . . . .” Marshall quickly seriously begins to explain that Madison face will be all over the press.

“No you don’t understand. If we keep what he looks like . . . they’ll just keep hounding to the point that I’ll have to kill one of them.” Carly emotionally says.

“They are back far enough aren’t they?” Carly emotionally asks directly looking over at Box.

“Yes . . . . They’re some distance away.” Box says in a reassuring tone.

They exit the plane Marshall with Madison tightly in his arms and then Carly holding tightly to Hailie’s hand close behind till they hit the pavement then walks beside him to the Explore.
