Second Chance 6

“What?’ Carly asks being pulled from her thoughts, as she quickly looks up at Dru.

“C’mon Dance!” Dru says as she begins to dance around the room.

“Dru you know I can’t dance!” Carly pitiful whines, as Dru dances over to her and grabs her wrist and begins to pull her up.

“Fake it!” Dru says with a laugh, as she quickly pulls Carly from the chair.

“Whoooooo!” Carly states realizing she’s had way to much to drink, as she tries to get out of Dru’s hold, Marshall laughing as he stands and walks over to them, realizing this will probably be his best opportunity to get close to her.

“May I have this dance?” Marshall asks, and Dru quickly let’s go of Carly’s wrist, as he takes her hand.

“Sure! Knock yourself out!” Dru states as she roughly pats Marshall on the back, as she wickedly smiles at Carly.

“I don’t wanna dance.” Carly whines as Marshall places her hand on his shoulder, as he is smiling down at her.

“Yes you do.” Marshall comments as he rests his hands on her tiny waist, and tries to get her to move her hips.

“C’mon Box!” Dru states as she is dancing around the room.

“I definitely have two left feet! I’ll be DJ.” Box states with a laugh, trying not to watch Marshall moving closer to Carly.

“I have to sit down.” Carly whispers as that feeling in the pit of her stomach becomes intense from Marshall being so close.

“I’ll hold you up.” Marshall whispers in her ear, as he wraps his arms tightly around her waist, pulling her closer, and she hesitantly rests her head on his chest.

Marshall and Carly barely moving, lost in the feel of the other, doesn’t notices a few minutes later when Dru motions for Box to follow her into the kitchen.

“I think maybe we’re in the way in there. Carly has been so on edge since seeing him again. She’s just a little confused right now. As much as she tries to deny it, she truly loves him. Is any of this making since to you?” Dru quietly but quickly explains to Box.

“Yeah. Marshall loves Carly very much. He now knows he made a big mistake in letting her walk out of his life.” Box quietly explains, as Dru smiles.

“She can be very bull headed when she wants to be. She’s got it in her mind that she doesn’t need him, BUT she does more than I can explain right now!” Dru sincerely says.

“She’s lucky to have a friend like you.” Box sincerely states.

“You Know If He Hurts Her Again I Will Have Him Killed! My Husband Hunts! So He Has Lots Of Guns!” Dru firmly threatens.

“I’m going home. Which is right next-door! So I can Still see and hear what’s going on over here! Tell Carly I’ll call her in the morning.” Dru firmly explains, and then reaches up and gives Box a friendly kiss on the cheek, then leaves out the back door.

Box peaks back into the living room and Carly and Marshall are still barely moving in the middle of the room, and he smiles and then also sneaks out the back door, to go tell the other guys out front to go back to the hotel, that Marshall most likely is in for the night.

“Carly?” Marshall whispers, as looks around the room and realizes that they’re alone, and she looks up him and he can tell that she is very sleepy.

“Where’s your bedroom?” Marshall whispers as he picks her up in his arms, and she rests her head back on his chest.

“Upstairs.” Carly mumbles almost asleep.

Marshall slowly makes it to her bedroom and gently lays her down, and gently moves her hair from her face with a smile, remembering how irritated he use to get when her long brown hair would get in his face while they slept, but would love to be that irritated again.

“Goodnight. I Love You.” Marshall sincerely says, and then places a kiss on her forehead, and Carly mumbles Goodnight as she is turning on her side.

Marshall watches her sleep for several minutes, before slowly getting up and pulling the other half of comforter over her, and cutting off the light and leaving, but stops in the hallway and looks at the doorway across the hall and slowly enters and clicks on the light. He looks around the brightly painted room decorated in Sesame Street Characters, as he walks over to the crib, but quickly sits down in the adult white rocker, as his heart begins to race and his head feels like it could explode, as tears begin to flow down his cheeks.

“God . . . I promise with all my heart and soul that if you just give me a second chance . . . I will make it work this time I promise. I just need a second chance to show her how much I love her.” Marshall silently prays.

Marshall sits in the nursery for several long moments before getting up and leaving, stopping and checking on Carly before going back down stairs, and finding Box stretched out on the sofa, half asleep.

“We leaving?” Box sleepily asks as he starts to get up and Marshall waves his hand at him, as he shakes his head no.

“Noooo. Go to sleep.” Marshall mumbles as he is walking into the kitchen.

Marshall looks around the kitchen and then goes out the glass doors onto a little wooden deck, and then slowly pulls his cel-phone from his sweatpants pocket and begins dial.
