Second Chance

Sequel to Intense Problems

Marshall and Carly tried very hard to make their relationship work for two years. Being from two totally different worlds, the pressures of his fame and never having enough time, her being very independent, head strong, and wanting to continue to work. Carly wanting a family and the white picket fence, Marshall firmly set on never remarrying, and definitely not wanting any more children.

A month after their separation, Carly went to live with her Grandmother in Minnesota. To put distance between her and the man she truly loves with all her heart body and soul. Marshall threw himself into writing music, touring with the Anger Management Tour, and scouting out new talent for Shady Records. Doing anything to keep his mind from thinking about the woman he loves, and letting her get away.

About a year after moving to Minnesota Carly’s Grandmother passed away, and she decided to stay in Minnesota, and continue to work in a law office as office manger, and live in the modest home her Grandmother left her.

~ Eighteen Months Later ~

Every Wednesday night Carly and her next-door neighbor, her best friend since moving to Minnesota, Dru have girls night out. No kids, husbands or problems, just a simple night out to chat, see a movie, have a nice meal that they didn’t have to cook or clean up afterwards.

Carly and Dru are in the middle of dinner at their favorite Mexican restaurant chatting and enjoying their night out when they notice the waitress and waiters beginning to do a lot of whispering and rushing around.

“Someone important must be coming in.” Dru comments as they watch the staff of the restaurant beginning to push tables to together in the far corner of the small restaurant.

“Well There Goes Our Quite Night.” Carly sarcastically states, as both ladies start laughing.

“Excuse Me . . . What’s going on?” Dru asks, as she motions to the waitress standing near their table.

“I’m sorry but I’m under strict orders not to tell. BUT it’s really big! I can’t believe he’s coming here on my shift.” The waitress excitedly says, dieing to tell someone what’s going on, but can’t.

“Just eat slow.” The waitress states with a large smile, then hurries off to help the others.

“Knowing our luck Jessie Ventura.” Carly sarcastically states, as she rolls her eyes, as both ladies laugh, as they high five over the table.

About fifteen minutes pass as the ladies chat, as the restaurant employees hurry around for the big arrival.

“Oh My Fuckin’ God! . . . . Carly . . . . . Don’t turn around! . . . . You will not believe who just walk in!” Dru struggles to speak, as she watches him and his entourage enter the restaurant and talk with the owner, as she is grabbing Carly’s arm.

“WHO? Who?” Carly excitedly asks, scared to turn around by the expression on her best friend’s face, but dieing to know, so she slowly turns in her seat, but quickly turns back around.

“GIRL! You look like you just saw a ghost!” Dru states in concern, but continuing to watch him and his entourage walk over to their table.

“We have to go!” Carly struggles to say, keeping her head down, and desperately trying to stay calm.

“WHY?” Dru loudly asks, and Carly quickly grabs her arm.

“Keep your voice down!” Carly firmly states, as she quickly lets go of Dru’s arm, which has a totally lost expression.

“Girlfriend! Did you happen to notice who just walked in? I’m not leaving! I don’t care who’s home waiting!” Dru firmly states, totally shocked at Carly reaction.

“I have to go . . . call you tomorrow.” Carly sincerely says, as she digs through her handbag for money, and then places it on the table, as she quickly glances over at the other table before standing.

“Carly!” Dru says, as Carly stands and quickly turns to leave and runs into a very large muscular man.

“FUCK! Excuse Me!” He states as he quickly grabs Carly before she falls to the floor, and their eyes connect.

“CARLY!” The man yells out excitedly, with a large smile on his face, as Carly forgets to breath, as she struggles to break his hold on her, and then frantically rushes from the restaurant.
